Role Description
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this is a full-time, remote role for a Queensland State Sales Manager based in the greater Brisbane region. The State Sales Manager will oversee day-to-day sales operations, develop and implement sales strategies and drive revenue and TEU growth. Responsibilities also include maintaining client relationships, identifying market opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The role requires frequent collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives. Travel will be required; expectation is to be visiting clients at least 3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement state-specific sales strategies in alignment with the national business goals.
- Identify new market opportunities and customer segments to drive business expansion across Queensland.
- Ensure the achievement of sales revenue and TEU targets
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients and stakeholders across Queensland.
- Engage with major accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and to maximize business opportunities.
- Resolve customer inquiries and issues in a timely and effective manner.
Market Insights & Reporting:
- Conduct regular market analysis to understand trends, competitor activities, and customer needs in Queensland.
- Provide detailed and accurate sales reports to senior management, highlighting performance, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Adjust strategies based on data-driven insights to optimize sales outcomes.
Collaboration with Other Departments:
- Work closely with trade and marketing, operations, and customer service teams to ensure the successful execution of sales programs and promotions.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Sales leader within liner shipping or freight forwarding, ideally in Queensland or the broader Australian market.
- Demonstrated success in sales leadership, team management, and meeting/exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of the Queensland import and export business landscape, customer demographics, and industry trends.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and manage key relationships.
- Results-driven mindset with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
- High level of organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Previous experience in the containerised liner shipping or freight forwarding industries, is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with local compliance regulations and market conditions within Queensland and Australia.
