• We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a Federal Government client.
• 12 Month contract with a potential 2 * 12 month extensions
• Location: Canberra ACT
• Hybrid Working - 4 days in office + 1 day from home or as otherwise agreed at client's discretion
• 40 hours per week
• Negative Vetting Level 2 clearance required.Key duties and responsibilities

The Domestic Regional Technical Officer will be required to:

·      Provide technical support domestically including travel, some international travel opportunities may be required.

·      Install and support CLIENT’s IT, Network and Communications systems.

·      Review and maintain installation documentation of various ICT systems.

·      General technical work and advice.

·      Additional duties as required in relation to ICT technical installations and support.

·      Possess the ability to work under limited supervision individually or in a team environment.

·      Possess the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.

·      Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn, showcase sound lateral thinking to investigate and solve undocumented problems.

·      Create and update Standard Operating Procedures.

IT infrastructure (ITOP) - Level 5

Systems integration and build (SINT) - Level 5

Software configuration (PORT) -Level 5

Incident management (USUP) - Level 5

Problem management (PBMG) - Level 5

Configuration management (CFMG) - Level 5

Stakeholder relationship management (RLMT) - Level 5

Technical skills

Certificate III in Information Technology is desirable.

CriteriaEssential criteria

1. Complex ICT Systems.

2. Desktop – capable of install/support of end-user compute software and hardware.

3. Printers – capable of installation and troubleshooting hardware and software.

4. UPS – understanding of Uninterruptible Power Supply function and installation/maintenance.

5. Physical Network and Server infrastructure – base understanding and operability of network and server devices and distribution cabling.

6. Active NV2 security clearance with PV desirable.

Desirable criteria

1. Logical Network – working knowledge of network routing and switching, including core concepts such as DHCP, subnetting, VLANs – or the ability to acquire.

2. Open Cabling Registration.

3. White Card, Enter and work in confined spaces, Work safely at heights, asbestos awareness.

4. Knowledge of government physical & electronic security requirements and processes.
