ConsultANZ is excited to announce an incredible opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to join one of our prestigious clients in Brisbane. If you’re passionate about payroll management and eager to take your career to the next level, this role is perfect for you!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately manage end-to-end payroll for approximately 30 white-collar employees, ensuring compliance with Australian regulations and company policies.
  • Operate and maintain payroll systems.
  • Ensure adherence to tax laws, superannuation requirements, and Fair Work regulations, including timely preparation and submission of payroll reports and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including salaries, leave entitlements, and deductions.
  • Address payroll-related queries, discrepancies, and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Contribute to the refinement of payroll processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist with basic HR tasks such as onboarding, maintaining employee records, and general administrative duties, time permitting.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in processing payroll, including complex elements such as reimbursements, deductions, and salary sacrifices.
  • Familiarity with Australian payroll laws, Fair Work Ombudsman guidelines, PAYG, and superannuation.
  • Proficient in payroll software (e.g., MYOB, Definitiv, Xero), including handling timesheets, reports, and employee payments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for managing staff interactions and addressing pay queries.
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Understanding of EBAs/awards, deductions, contributions, and benefits administration.
