The Opportunity We are currently looking for an experienced and highly motivated Tax Analyst to join our team in South Melbourne. In this role, you will report to the Group Head of Tax ANZ and work primarily within Acciona’s Infrastructure Division, while also supporting the Energy Division and Concessions Divisions. You will play a critical role within a multinational group, managing a range of tax compliance obligations and providing tax advisory support for a diverse range of complex tax matters across the Australian operations, working closely with local and global teams. The role will involve strategic tax planning, compliance, and risk management, with a particular focus on infrastructure projects and the growing renewable energy sector. Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and apply the group’s Tax Risk Management & Governance Policy.
  • Monitor and analyse proposed and new tax legislation, regulations and judicial decisions and their impact for the group.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all Australian tax compliance and reporting obligations for the group (income tax, withholding tax, GST, FBT, and more), including tax returns, payments, and all local and group reporting requirements.
  • Manage queries and compliance activity from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and other regulatory bodies.
  • Provide expert tax advice on Australian tax matters, including income tax, GST, capital gains tax (CGT), tax consolidation, financing, transfer pricing, and withholding tax, in relation to infrastructure projects and renewable energy investments.
  • Advise on tax structuring for new investments, projects, and transactions, ensuring alignment with business goals while minimizing tax risk and optimizing tax efficiency.

Required Skills And Competencies

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Taxation, Law, or a related discipline.
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Advisor, or similar professional certification.
  • At least 5 years of experience in tax, preferably with experience at a Big-4 accounting firm, law firm, or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian tax landscape, including tax laws, regulations, and the ability to apply them to complex business transactions.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax law across corporate tax, GST, transfer pricing and international tax, across tax accounting, tax compliance and tax advisory workstreams.
  • Experience working with multinational groups, either as a professional adviser or within industry.
