About QIMR Berghofer QIMR Berghofer is a world-leading translational medical research institute focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of Cancer, Infection and Inflammation, Brain and Mental Health, and Population Health. Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is home to more than 600 scientists, students and non-research staff. Population Health Program The Population Health Program includes 12 research groups working across a range of areas from chronic disease epidemiology, genetics and genomics, biostatistics to tropical health. The Population Health Program and its groups are dedicated to understanding the factors influencing the health and wellbeing outcomes of all Australians and our regional neighbours and is guided by the ultimate goal of preventing ill-health in communities and improving patient care, quality of life, and survival rates. What are we looking for? We are currently seeking to employ an outstanding independent (early, mid-career, or senior) researcher with a track record of success in publications and attracting externally competitive grant funding. We invite applications__from all Population Health research areas including health economics. The successful applicant will join our faculty and be expected to lead their own research projects. They will also participate in the effective running of the Program through collaboration, committee involvement, and contributing to funding applications for Program themes.
