About The Team Join our dynamic team of 15 individuals with diverse background in engineering, road renewal, and asset management. About Your New Role You will lead a team of 4 asset planners, responsible for identification and intervention of road asset defects, including planning, scoping and cost estimation of road and associated asset defect repair within the City road network. This position will act as the program manager for the City’s kerb and channel, road patching and preservation programs including line marking reinstatement. Requiring the use of initiative and judgement to develop, audit and maintain a prioritised road assets management (maintenance intervention) programs with consideration to the whole-of-life cycle asset performance under the custodianship of Transport Assets Branch. This role will work closely with the Asset Management Planning – Transport team regarding third party condition assessment data.   • Developing and implementing asset renewal works for Kerb and Channel, Road Patching, Road Preservation programs (4 year programs).
  • Coordination the Scoping works, specification, and estimate documents.
  • Prioritising project delivery planning based upon asset condition, utilisation, and need.
  • Verifying City road asset condition assessment data to field data with your team.
  • Working with the City Pavement Engineers to deliver appropriate pavement treatment options.
  • Managing and arranging geotechnical pavement investigation and testing.
  • Ensuring traffic count data survey are obtained for pavement design where necessary.
  • Use knowledge and skills to provide advice, investigate and prepare correspondence and attend meetings on matters relating to transport assets as directed.
  • Lead your team to:
  • audit and assess the condition of City assets road network making sound recommendations for road asset rehabilitation.
  • work closely with the Asset Management Planning – Transport team to incorporate third party condition assessment data into the City’s renewal programs.
  • deliver projects in accordance with the Asset Management Plan, and Sustainable Road Pavement Management Plan.
  • audit issues raised via councillor/maintenance/customer requests in a timely matter and recommend options.
  • engage third party contractors to deliver remedial works under existing standing delivery contracts.

We're Looking For People Who Have

  • Diploma of Engineering, Program Management, Project Management and/or other relevant fields, or have demonstrated equivalent experience and knowledge relevant to the role.
  • Drivers Licence Class C unrestricted.
  • High level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with an ability to produce project plans, communicate effectively and professionally with team members, field staff, administrative staff, management, Councillors and customers as required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and investigative skills to facilitate decision-making, including the ability to interpret and determine an appropriate course of action and provide options or recommendations.
  • High level of knowledge and experience in the operation, construction, maintenance and renewal of road related assets, e.g. asphalt, kerb and channel, drainage, earthworks and subdivisional works.
  • Well developed knowledge of Policies, Procedures, Systems and legislation, relevant to transport infrastructure.
  • Well developed experience in the City's corporate systems such as Pathway and SAP, MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Access), PDF editing software, and the ability to identify opportunities for process improvements through better utilisation of systems.
