This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time, and Fixed Term Part Time appointment with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. Whilst children develop at their own pace, some experience challenges and need additional support. The Child and Adolescent Health Service are seeking friendly, passionate and skilled Clinical Psychologist Registrar (Grade 1) and Clinical Psychologists (Grade 2) who can support infants, children and young people with developmental concerns to reach their full potential. There are two types of available positions (there may be opportunities to work across both position types):

  • Those that offer the opportunity for clinicians to provide individual assessments and treatment, participate in group-based interventions and also to be part of a multi-disciplinary team undertaking joint assessments and/or interventions. There will be opportunities to develop skills in diagnostic assessments, particularly, in relation to autism spectrum disorder.
  • Those that are specifically based in our Autism Assessment Clinics where there will be the opportunity to work closely within the multi-disciplinary team to provide diagnostic assessments to children where there is a query around neurodiversity, in particular, autism. There will be supportive training provided, particularly in relation to autism spectrum disorder.

An appointee may progress to Clinical Psychologist Grade 2 upon successful completion of a Board approved supervised period of practice and gaining endorsement in Clinical Psychology with the Psychology Board of Australia. About the Child Development Service: The Child Development Service provides multidisciplinary assessment and intervention services to infant, children and young people with developmental delay or difficulties that impact on function, participation and/or the parent-child relationship. Clinicians adopt a child and family-centred approach, working in partnership with families to address developmental concerns that are of priority to the family.Our teams include Clinical Psychologists, Developmental Paediatricians, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Speech Pathologists and other allied health professionals.The Child Development Service provides services at approximately 18 locations across the metropolitan Perth area, as well as providing home, school and community visits as needed.Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector.
