Feed Mill Hand - Brisbane Valley Cattle Feedlot

Job DescriptionAbout the role Conveniently located between Esk and Gatton, in a picturesque spot, our Brisbane Valley Feedlot carries approximately 3500 head of cattle. You'll join a fun, close-knit team of 5, and work a 10/4 roster. The feed mill operation is a critical part of the feedlot, everything they do is about ensuring our cattle are get the right feed at the right time. Animal health and nutrition is most important to us. You’ll be comfortable working in a structured environment, following procedures and learn to safely undertake activities that include:

• Operating feed truck
• Operating front end loader
• Perform basic vehicle and equipment maintenance
• Accurately follow ration formulas
• Monitor, measure, load and weigh commodities
• Tempering and milling grain
• Recording data and information

You'll also get the opportunity to help out in the livestock team and learn cattle handling and processing skills. There are long term opportunities for career development and progression through our larger feedlots and integrated cattle & beef supply chain. About You Along with your passion for working with livestock, your willingness to learn, you'll also have:

• Ability to learn to competently and safely operate large scale machinery
• Basic computer literacy
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Commitment to safety, animal welfare and quality standards
• Positive attitude and is a team player
• Ability to work effectively without supervision
• Flexibility and willingness to undertake other duties within the feedlot
• Current manual drivers license
