As the premier stand alone Club within the Victorian Football League (VFL), Werribee Football Club offers a unique opportunity to lead & manage our Football program, working alongside a supportive and dynamic team in the highest level competition within the AFL. 

About the role

This is a full-time role that includes some weekend and evening work.

The Football Manager will be responsible for managing the off- field football operations in conjunction with the Senior Coach, and delivering the strategic elements of the Club’s football program and is pivotal in ensuring a professional delivery for the benefit of all VFL stakeholders

The position must maintain the highest level of professionalism and ensure the structure and resources are managed to allow the Werribee Football Club to successfully compete and perform to a State league standard.

key areas of focus for the role include :

• The successful planning and delivery of all aspects of the football department including operations, medical, player recruitment and retention, compliance, welfare, sports science activities. 
• Establishment of sound work practices and effective communication between all areas and levels of the football department and all Club stakeholders 
• Management & responsibility of Football Program Budget.
• Experience in a football management/operations role. 

Qualifications & experience

• Min 3 years experience in an Australian Rules Football management role.
• Demonstrated organisational skills. 
• Proven leadership capability. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• Sound understanding of, and expertise in, modern Australian Rules football. 
• Well-developed PC skills including the effective use of Microsoft Suite
• Controlled in a pressured environment, calm and measured when dealing with crisis situations. 
• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently. 
• Capacity to promote and deliver a high performance culture. 
• Strategic in thinking and practice.
