The Role We’re seeking a passionate senior planner ready to make an impact! Join our innovative, fast-paced teams within Planning and Land Use Services. The role reports to a Team Leader and liaises extensively with executive and senior management to provide support and guidance to professional and administrative team members including any who might be less experienced. The role will provide advice to Minister and State Planning Commission on complex matters relevant to the role, and will network, liaise and engage with a wide range of stakeholders across State and Local Governments, private sector, including industry groups and the general public. This role will be based in the PLUS Commission Assessment team, which has responsibility for development assessment of large-scale Schedule 6 matters under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016. The role includes management of pre-lodgement activities and the assessment of state level interest applications where the State Commission Assessment Panel is the decision maker under delegation. About You To be successful in these positions, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:
- Experience working in a planning related role undertaking policy development, strategic planning and/or development assessment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, succinctly and accurately, in writing and verbally, in a professional and tactful manner including successfully liaise with people at all levels.
- Excellent ability to develop collaborative and effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders, internal and external to government.
- High level organisational skill and proven ability to determine priorities, cope effectively with high volumes of work and to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work under reduced professional direction, independently or as part of a team, plan and coordinate activities, set priorities, achieve objectives within deadlines and make timely and well-informed decisions.
Qualification
- A recognised degree or post graduate qualification that supports the relevant discipline of planning and development.
Special Conditions Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.
