Our Payroll Services team plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing across multiple entities within the Archdiocese. Managing a complex payroll environment with multiple awards and agreements, we are committed to delivering exceptional service to our employees and stakeholders. About The Role Centacare is seeking a Payroll Project Officer to join our team for a 12-month contract based in the Brisbane CBD. Reporting to the Project Manager/Payroll Manager, you will play a crucial role in reviewing, validating, and analysing time and attendance records and payments while supporting payroll-related projects and BAU payroll functions as required. Key ResponsibilitiesProject Support:
- Perform administrative and technical tasks to ensure smooth payroll processes and system operations.
- Extract, cleanse, and migrate complex employee data.
- Source, compile, and track project data to report on progress and milestones.
- Conduct research and analysis to support decision-making and project planning.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and internal teams, providing project assistance.
- Liaise with current and former employees to update contact details and respond to payroll-related queries.
- Support employees with payroll queries and assist with BAU payroll as needed.
Payroll Processing:
- Process full payroll cycles for all employees, from commencement to termination, in compliance with EBAs.
- Prepare payroll reports using Aurion and Microsoft Excel.
- Maintain employee payroll records and provide high-quality customer service to internal and external clients.
- Offer expert payroll advice and problem-solving support to employees and managers.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure a safe working environment, complying with Workplace Health & Safety
- Uphold Centacare’s commitment to safeguarding children and adults at risk.
- Maintain compliance with privacy, data protection, gender equity, anti-discrimination, and other relevant legislation.
- Identify and report any potential workplace hazards or risks.
About You: To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Prior experience in Payroll, HR, or Financial services (highly regarded).
- Ability to learn new systems quickly; Aurion experience (ideal).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- A collaborative, team-player attitude with initiative and proactiveness.
- Ability to build relationships and work effectively with people at all levels.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a current driver’s license, Blue Card, Criminal History Check, and NDIS Worker clearance.
