What will you be doing?

• Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts, including supply agreements, service contracts, and confidentiality agreements.
• Providing legal and commercial advice on business operations, tenders, and project-based activities.
• Supporting and, where appropriate, leading contractual negotiations to mitigate risk and achieve business objectives.
• Advising on compliance, risk management, dispute resolution, intellectual property, and insurance matters.
• Developing and implementing policies, processes, and governance tools to strengthen commercial decision-making.
• Engaging with external legal advisors and internal corporate support teams to ensure best-practice legal and risk management strategies.
• Delivering training and internal guidance to operational teams on legal and commercial matters.

Who will succeed in this role?

This role is ideal for a commercially minded lawyer with a strong understanding of contract law, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

A blend of private practice and in-house experience is highly regarded, particularly in commercial, corporate, or defence-related industries.

To be successful, you will have:

• A Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent) with approximately two to four years of post-admission experience.
• Full working rights in Australia and eligibility to hold a practising certificate.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to work closely with business stakeholders.
• Experience in commercial contracts, intellectual property, M&A, or tendering processes.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
