- Advise on administrative law matters and provide legal (and legal policy) advice on complex issues and decisions relating to the regulatory and digital functions of the ACCC, including under the CCA, the Telecommunications Act, the Water Act, the Digital ID Act and other relevant legislation
- Conduct legal and related research into complex matters relevant to ACCC responsibilities under relevant legislation
- Provide legal input on the development of policy and legislation relating to the ACCC’s regulatory and inquiry functions
- Assist with the conduct of investigations, the management of Court and Tribunal proceedings involving the ACCC, and the performance of the ACCC’s compliance and enforcement functions.
Lawyers (APS6) would have at least three years’ relevant practice experience or equivalent and may work autonomously at times but would generally work under supervision. Senior Lawyers (EL1) would typically have significant experience advising in relevant areas of law or equivalent and be capable of working autonomously and, at times, with some supervision when providing legal advice. About You In order to succeed in the role, you will have:
- admission as a practitioner, however described, of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory, or the ability to become so admitted before commencing in the role
- demonstrated experience in collaborating effectively with stakeholders
- ability to distil and communicate complex legal advice clearly to a range of audiences
- previous legal experience (typically at least three (APS6) to five (EL1) years) advising in respect of administrative decision-making, regulatory, competition, consumer or enforcement matters. Applicants are not expected to have experience of all areas, but must have a willingness to work across a range of matters.

- Lawyer 1 (APS6): $99,562 - $111,590 (plus 15.4% superannuation)
- Lawyer 1 (EL1): $123,702 - $153,880 (plus 15.4% superannuation)
