About The Role Are you passionate about driving systemic change to improve educational outcomes for Aboriginal students? The Policy and Project Lead, Closing the Gap Policy and Transformation plays a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and evaluating whole-of-system approaches to enhance Aboriginal experiences and outcomes in public education. This role is essential in developing and executing a unified policy agenda that drives systemic change and continuous improvement, ensuring the department’s obligations under Closing the Gap and the Reconciliation Action Plan are seamlessly integrated into its operations. Additionally, the position is responsible for monitoring progress, providing strategic advice, and guiding efforts to achieve key improvement targets aligned with these commitments. - A tertiary qualification in law, economic, evaluation, public policy, early childhood or education, or similar.
Special Conditions The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years. For all other Special Conditions please refer to the attached Position Description. Remuneration ASO8 $121,107 - $125,679 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.
