JOB TITLE:
Junior Designer/Architecture Graduate (1-3 years)
SALARY BRACKET:
BAND 2 - $60,000 - $75,000 dependant upon experience
REPORT TO:
Directors and Lead Designers

Central to this role will be demonstrable capacity to DRAW.
Drawing as a verb is the act by which architecture is conceived and communicated to the wider world.
The Drawing as a noun is the vehicle in which our architecture moves from idea to realisation.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable understanding of the key modes of representing a building - this extends beyond basic understanding of orthographic projection and into a clear appreciation of graphics, hierarchy, diagrams, drawing organisation and drawing management.
The role of Junior Designer is principally involved in the production of design packages. These design packages are for a variety of project stages and a variety of project stakeholders from Concept and Client to Construction and Contractor. Everyone in our studio draws. We understand drawing as an active design process and not simply a clerical task.
The role will require a basic understanding of planning, construction and architectural project sequences local to New South Wales. The successful candidate will work with a Director and/or Lead Designers to guide projects through the relevant planning and legislative systems.
2 EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will have a proven capacity to effectively draw and model a building. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable interest and enthusiasm for the wider field and culture of architecture. Some experience of working in an architectural office or in an adjacent field is an advantage but not a prerequisite.
3 RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation of Design Packages as assistant to Lead Designer and Directors
- Preparation of orthographic drawings
- Preparation of 3D model and diagrams
- Preparation of basic imagery
- Acquiring and researching materials and samples
- Support in office administration (answering phones, filing drawings etc).
4 SALARY
Salary will be determined according to experience within the defined company pay band - Band 2. Salary is exclusive of superannuation contributions which will be paid at Superannuation Guarantee rate.
