The Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF) was established in 2008 in response to community demand from Indigenous families who choose to enrol their children in boarding schools.
Bringing together the government and private sector, AIEF provides scholarship funding for Indigenous students to complete Year 12 or tertiary studies, with career support to help them make a successful transition to further study and employment.

About the role
Reporting to the General Manager – Communications and joining a close-knit team that sits within a wider Engagement unit, the Events Administrator will provide administration, coordination and delivery support for AIEF events and activities.
A confident and organised professional, you will work closely with your supervisor and internal and external contributors to deliver effective events for students, alumni and other stakeholders. This role requires a high level of professionalism to represent the organisation externally.
You will:
- Manage the delivery of a range of complex events and major projects, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently. This includes collaborating across multiple teams to coordinate event logistics and administration
- Coordinate AIEF representation at external events by team members, advocates, students and/or alumni
- Oversee budget keeping, process improvement, reports, photo filing, correspondence and internal calendar entries and event communication
- Liaise and correspond with stakeholders including schools and alumni
- Maintain accurate contact, attendee and event records in AIEF’s CRM database
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will be a highly organised and driven self-starter who has approximately two years of experience in event administration.
In addition, we are looking for someone who has or demonstrates:
- Tertiary qualifications in Event Management, Communications or other related fields, or equivalent job experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Knowledge of (or a willingness to learn) CRM systems
- Growth mindset, solutions-oriented thinking and high attention to detail
- Previous experience working on projects with Indigenous or culturally diverse groups is advantageous but not required
This position will require attending occasional events outside of business hours and may require some interstate travel.
